Commercial Automatic Sliding Doors
Our partnership with Dormakaba UK allows us to offer the ES200 commercial sliding automatic door operator as our standard equipment for projects throughout Essex and surrounding areas.
If your entrance sees a lot of foot traffic, it shouldn’t be a weak point. Whether you manage a retail store, medical practice, office building or transport hub, you need doors that open reliably, safely, and without delay every single time. Commercial automatic sliding doors open and close using motion sensors, creating a seamless experience for every visitor.

A Tried-and-Tested Operator You Can Rely On
We typically install the Dormakaba ES200, a unit tested for around two million open-and-close cycles. That gives you peace of mind that it will perform for years, not just months. It can easily replace your current door operator or form the centrepiece of a new automatic entrance.
It integrates with most access-control systems and offers full flexibility when it comes to door size, panel layout and opening behaviour. If your project requires something different, we also supply operators from brands like Geze, Record UK, and Entrematic.
How It Works
The system runs on a microprocessor, which controls how fast the doors open and close. The panels slide smoothly along a rail fixed above the doorway, making for quiet, consistent movement.
You can configure your setup based on your space. Openings can be up to 3 metres wide, with a choice between a single sliding panel or two that meet in the middle. Single panels support up to 200 kg; paired ones up to 320 kg. In tighter spaces, a telescopic version lets the panels stack neatly, offering a wider opening with less clearance.
Control is simple. A selector switch on the wall lets you choose how the door behaves:
- Fully automatic during busy periods
- Partial opening to reduce heat loss
- Exit only, for one-way flow
- Hold open when you need full access
- Night mode for secure lockdown

Is an Automatic Sliding Door System Right for Your Building?
Automatic sliding doors aren’t right for every building, but in busy places, they can make a big difference. Shops, leisure centres and transport facilities use them to keep people moving smoothly and to secure the entrance at closing time. Hospitals, clinics and pharmacies prefer them because there’s no need to touch handles, which helps with hygiene. Offices and public buildings choose them to create a professional, accessible entrance and to manage visitors. On industrial sites, they provide a wide, clear opening that’s easy for staff and equipment to pass through.
If your entrance sees a lot of use, it’s worth thinking about who’s coming and going, when they’ll be using it, and whether you need features like remote locking, access control or fire alarm integration. A good automatic sliding door doesn’t just make life easier, it can also improve security, energy efficiency and the first impression people get when they walk through the door.
If another type of entrance would suit your building better, we also install automatic swing doors and aluminium door systems.
Need specific security or access features?
We offer different types of sensors for our commercial sliding doors, including radar or infrared, and can add push pads or key‑fob readers for controlled entry. If security is a priority, the motor will lock the leaves closed, and you can restrict entry with cards or a keypad. Door frames come in powder‑coated aluminium in most colours or in frameless glass for a minimal look. We can also mount the operator behind a curtain wall so the mechanics are hidden.
Popular customisation options:
- Security upgrades: Card readers, keypads, motor locking
- Sensor choices: Radar or infrared detection
- Design flexibility: Any colour aluminium or frameless glass
- Discreet installation: Hidden behind curtain walls
